We desire to be a gospel-beliving community that makes disciples who displays the love of Jesus for the glory of God. We want to see a city so captivated by the love of Jesus that he becomes our highest priority and greatest joy.
Why Oxon Hill
OUR PEOPLE NEED JESUS
Our city is small but as a result of being so closely connected to D.C. it has morphed into a beautiful tapestry made up of all types of characters. From the retired government worker to the homeless man who can sing better than your favorite Idol. It’s given birth to artists, teachers, and entrepreneurs and become home for many who want the perks of city life without the cost. But as a amazing as our city is years of dysfunction due to sin has become increasingly noticeable. The impact is most evident in the institutions that God originally put in place:
“…the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”
– 1 Peter 5:10
In January 2019, a group of families will be sent to plant a gospel-believing church in the National Harbor area. We would love to invite you to learn about the work, celebrate with us what God has already done, and pray with us to discern how God can use you to join us on mission. Please know that if you have children they are more than welcome to attend.
We will begin at 7pm on Thursday, June 28 at Del Ray Baptist Church. Since we realize many will be coming directly from work, we are happy to provide food. Please let us know if you are coming so that we can accommodate everyone.
Finally, we understand that everyone who would like to attend may not be able to. If that is you, please feel frree to follow up at firstname.lastname@example.org. We can send more information and set up a better time to meet.
